The ACe Advantage: Empowering a Love of Learning

The Achievement Centre (ACe) lies at the heart of our inclusive approach. Located within the dedicated ACE wing, this department reflects our ethos of inclusivity, encompassing:

  • Wellbeing: Dedicated school counselors, each assigned to a specific age group, prioritize our students' social and emotional wellbeing. They implement proactive programs and interventions across various levels, fostering stakeholder collaboration.
  • Behavior Modification & Support: Our counselors collaborate with homeroom teachers, subject teachers, management, and parents to create a "Team Around the Child" (TAC) approach. This model ensures consistent support and addresses the emotional wellbeing of students when making disciplinary decisions. We follow the approved behavior policy guidelines of the Ministry of Education (MOE) for the safety and care of all students.
  • Students of Determination (SOD): We welcome students with diverse needs, including ASD, ADHD, Language & Speech difficulties, Physical Disabilities, and co-morbidities – as long as we can effectively cater to their individual needs. Specialized teachers conduct targeted pull-out sessions for students, supported by Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in the classroom. Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) track student progress, with ongoing monitoring and resource support provided to teachers.
  • Gifted & Talented (G&T): We nurture these students through differentiated and enriched curriculum experiences. Extra-curricular activities, field trips, and specialized programs help them flourish. Our ACe team guides facilitators in identifying G&T students based on academic achievement and practical criteria across various domains. The team develops Advanced Learning Plans to challenge and nurture their specific talents.
  • English as an Additional Language (EAL): Dedicated EAL teachers support students across all school sections. The EAL teachers collaborate with homeroom and subject teachers to identify student needs and track progress through various stages of language acquisition. When needed, EAL teachers offer pull-out intervention sessions until students reach a strong level of competence, ensuring inclusivity within the classroom.
